Board Performance Improvement

Association Boards are like any team. Teams go through the 4 Stages of Team Development. Many Boards are stuck in early Stages (1&2) and struggle to reach the 4th and final Stage. A Board stuck in Stages 1 &2 are less effective. Until a Board has reached the 4th and final Stage of Team Development, they are under performing and not delivering the results for which they were elected.  

We work alongside Boards in understanding why they are stuck in the early Stages of Team Development and help them develop Corrective Action Plans to allow the Board to reach the final 4th Stage and begin to deliver the results Owners expect.

Financial Planning & Execution is a critical responsibility of an Association Board. 

Association budgets can be multi-million dollars in scope between the Operating Budgets and Reserve Budgets.  

Owners put their trust in Boards to maintain the proper financial discipline to meet their Fiduciary Responsibilities to the Association and it’s Owners. 

Unfortunately, many Boards exist without a Board member who has the proper Financial Acumen to manage Association finances.

We work alongside Boards in helping them structure and maintain their financial systems to meet their Fiduciary Responsibilities. 

How do you get the Association “From Here to There” without a Strategic Plan? Once the Board is performing, Out of the Fire Fighting Mode and is functioning as a cohesive team, it is important for the Board to start developing a Strategic Plan that lays out the longer-term direction of the Association. It is critical to obtain Owner Inputs as the Strategic Plan is being developed.
